Specializing in Laser Cataract Surgery, Refractive Lens Surgery, ALL-Laser LASIK, and complete eye care including Glaucoma treatment with the latest advancements in MIGS (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery), Luke Barker, MD, is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He joins SharpeVision after spending most of the last decade as lead cataract and refractive surgeon at Mann Eye Institute in Austin, TX.

Dr. Barker was raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where he received his BS in Chemistry from Middle Tennessee State University and his Medical Degree from East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine. He then continued to Texas where he completed his Internship and Ophthalmology Residency at Texas A & M University System Health Science Center, Scott & White Memorial Hospital, becoming Chief Resident in his final year.

Dr. Barker is actively passionate for medical missions, both locally and abroad. He has volunteered his time and skills for medical mission trips to Mexico, Belize and Fiji, and locally for Cornerstone Free Clinic. He has three sons and a daughter, and enjoys an active lifestyle, playing tennis, cycling, hiking, kayaking, surfing and outdoor sports, as well as travel, photography and spending time with his family.
