”I strive to provide the highest level of care for my patients and help them achieve their best possible vision.” – Dr. Prickett

His Story

Dr. Adam Prickett, Sharpe Vision Chicago’s Refractive Surgeon, was born in the Bay Area of California and grew up in Bellingham, Washington. He designed model bridges in his high school physics class and went on to win the International Bridge Building Competition in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

He went to Stanford University for his Mechanical Engineering degree and worked at Agilent Technologies for one year designing laser systems. In the summer of 2005, he also traveled to Vietnam for a volunteer Medical Project where he provided free health care to the local population. In 2006 he began his medical degree at Stanford, where he focused on Bioengineering and Immunology and was a teaching assistant. He then moved to Chicago for his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he met his wife Elizabeth, who grew up in Northbrook. He completed a one-year Cornea Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, where he performed specialized cornea procedures and LASIK.

In 2015 he returned to Chicago and began to work as a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and Cornea Specialist in Arlington Heights. He strives to provide the highest level of care for his patients and help them achieve their best possible vision. He enjoys his time off with his two children, William, and Veronica, designing wooden models, playing piano, and gardening on most weekends. He helps provide vision screening tests at the nearby elementary schools and is a member of the local Rotary Club.
