”Eyesight is our most important sense. It is my honor to provide you with compassionate eye care to preserve this gift. My commitment is to take you through the journey of discovering the possibilities of enhanced vision and walk with you step by step.” – Dr. Forrest

Her Story

Dr. Sarah Forrest is originally from the small community of Jackson, Missouri. She studied at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Allied Health and graduated Summa Cum Laude. After undergrad, Dr. Forrest moved to Oklahoma, where she attended Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah. During her time at NSUOCO, she was awarded the NSUOCO Award of Clinical Excellence, Pheiffer Award for Excellence for Research Related to Practice Management and the Southwest Contact Lens Award. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Kappa and Northeastern State University Honor Society. Dr. Forrest completed her externship at TLC Laser Eye Center and BVA Advanced Eye Care in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In May 2011, she graduated NSUOCO with the Summa Cum Laude designation.

After optometry school, Dr. Forrest and her husband moved to South Texas. During her time there, she worked closely with a prominent refractive surgery physician and held leadership positions in the Rio Grande Valley Optometric Society, serving as Vice-President in 2012 and 2013 and President in 2014. Dr. Forrest is currently a member of the Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.

Dr. Forrest has always had a passion to help patients discover the possibilities of uncorrected vision through refractive surgery. Dry eye disease is also of particular interest to her, and she strives to provide the latest treatments for those who suffer from it. A strong believer in giving back, volunteer work is an important part of Dr. Forrest’s practice. She has administered vision screenings for the Special Olympics and provided optometric care during a medical mission trip to Guatemala.

Family is a top priority, so Dr. Forrest and her husband made the move north to be closer to them and are happy to call Central Texas home. On most weekends, she is enjoying the outdoors with her husband, two children, and two dogs, and checking out new restaurants and live music in Austin
