JENNA BLECHMAN, OD
AUSTIN OPTOMETRIST

Dr. Jenna Blechman is originally from Boca Raton, Florida. She studied at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2012, Honors’ program, and graduated Cum Laude. After undergrad, Dr. Blechman moved to New York City and graduated from the State University of New York College of Optometry. During her time at SUNY, she was a recipient of the Schnurmacher Foundation Merit Scholarship, was on the Dean’s List, and was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa. Dr. Blechman completed her externships at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, and Aran Eye Associates in Miami, FL. In May 2016, she graduated from SUNY with honors. Dr. Blechman then completed a residency program in ocular disease at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL.

After residency, Dr. Blechman moved back to New York City. She worked at a pediatric ophthalmology practice followed by a private optometry practice specializing in refractive surgery, co-management, and ocular disease management. She is a longstanding member of the American Academy of Optometry and became a Fellow in 2017, a distinction earned by meeting rigorous qualifications.

Dr. Blechman’s late grandfather was also an optometrist, and she was inspired to follow in his footsteps. Guided by her passion for helping patients see their best, she oversees the SVML Co-Management Program.

Dr. Blechman made a move to Austin to be closer to family. On weekends, she loves to explore the new city with her husband, trying new restaurants and food trucks, and enjoying the outdoors.
